Raivis Aitiņš || Latvia Dtshrg

:basic:

Age (Physical): 15
Age (Actual): 772
Country of Origin: Latvija

Strengths

[+] Kindness; Raivis is a friendly person under his jittery demeanor, he is kind to everyone without discrimination, until he's given a reason not to be.
[+] Good judge of character; Raivis, for all the years he's lived, has seen the best and the worst of people, and he's learned to see the good and the evil in people. He is very wary of those he sees as bad or cruel, those he still gives them a chance at friendship.
[+] Excellent senses; For his relation to Duttur, the Sheep Goddess, Raivis has certain sheepish attributes, including enhanced hearing and sight.
[+] Green thumb; Set him to work in any garden and in time, it'll be healthy and lively. He worked in farms quite a bit in his first few centuries of life.
[+] Floral arranging; He's always liked flowers, and in his past time, he enjoys putting together pretty flowers, sometimes leaving them for people he thinks deserves them, or just keeping for himself.

Weaknesses

[-] Anxiety and apprehension; Raivis tends to be a pessimist and worry about every bad thing that could happen. He's seen a lot of wrong done in his time, and it's given him a bad case of social anxiety.
[-] Eats just about everything; He's a very unpicky eater. While this could be a strength, more often than not, he eats stuff he shouldn't and gets sick.
[-] Physically weak; he is in no way a strong individual, though he has a lot of stamina. Hard labour is not for him, he'll try to get out of it if he can, and do something easier.
[-] Modern things; they confuse him. He does not like the confusing things of the future and just can't operate anything, like a microwave or a lamp.
[-] Bad with money; paper money seems like a food, and he occasionally tries to eat it. Paper money though, does not taste good and he throws it out. He collects coins because they're shiny and amuse him, but rarely spends them.

Phobias

[x] Drowning; Raivis is not a strong swimmer, and has had a few accidents with the Daugava River in his lifetime. Raivis will avoid large bodies of water at all costs, and by no means will he go swimming.
[x] Being deceived; Raivis knows people aren't always honest and don't have the best of intentions, but he has a hard time dealing when he's had his trust betrayed. Especially with those close to him, Raivis closes himself up when he's been deceived.
[x] Technology; as a protector of sheep and farm animals, Raivis just doesn't adapt very well to technology. In fact, electronics scare him quite a bit and he'll secretly throw them out of somebody's house if he can. Generally, he only destroys small electronics. He's a toaster and blender murderer. The only things safe from his electronics genocide are lamps. He likes lamps.

Quirks

[?] He's very friendly with animals. Farm animals. Sheep are his best friends. He tends to not talk to those who can talk back, but to sheep instead.
[?] There is no filter between Raivis' thoughts and his mouth. He blurts things out without really thinking about it, and usually doesn't realize he said something wrong.
[?] He sees televisions as devils. They will be destroyed upon being located, and it is a good idea to put a blanket over them if he enters a house with one.

Species: Dieviņi
A minor god in Latvian mythology, the Dieviņi are prayed to more commonly than the major Gods(Dievs). Dieviņi is a term used collectively to refer to all the minor Gods, and can represent a wide many types of minor Gods. There are many sorts of Dieviņi, all less powerful than Dievs. As they are Gods, Dieviņi are immortal, but can be killed by Dievs, or if the people stop praying to them. Luckily for most of the Dieviņi, the Latvian people still pray to them, even to this day!
(I had a very hard time finding information on Dieviņi, if anyone has more information/corrections, it'd be appreciated.)

Place of Residence: In Mythos, Raivis keeps up his habit of living in the forests or around farming households. He doesn't have a permanent place of residence, but tries to stay around dense forests or any plants, like bushes, that he can hide in.

Occupation: Raivis really hasn't been able to make himself a business or get a real job, but Raivis does make small bouquets and sell them around town occasionally. He tries to do chores and small labours for those with gardens, in exchange for food.

Stance on Humans: As of now, Raivis does not like humans much, though he doesn't hate them. He's quite fearful of them and since reaching Mythos, he won't leave, for fear of being attacked by a human.

How long have they been a resident of Mythos?: About three years.

Personality:

By nature, Raivis is a shy boy. He's soft-spoken and generally docile, and doesn't like confrontation. He has a strong will, though he asserts himself quite passively. He's usually nervous of people, and anxious in crowds. He will defend himself, but the well-being of himself and those he feels he should protect is more important to him, and thus he will give in to whatever is necessary to keep everything and everyone safe. He's a pacifist, and it takes a lot to actually make him angry. Raivis has a lot of patience, he can handle a lot of abuse, it's a rare thing to see him livid. Though he does put up with a lot, Raivis doesn't sit back and let it happen. He runs his mouth quite a bit...and it's truly a mix of him simply being blunt and honest, and him wanting to irk another. Raivis is quite often oblivious to hurting other people's feelings with his words, though he gets more malicious the more upset he is, and will eventually say things only to be mean. This side of him is rather difficult to drag out.

Raivis is not very sensitive to verbal abuse, and can take that as it comes. He is however, quick to tears when it comes to getting hurt physically or being afraid enough. He's nervous around some people, but usually it's only those that have caused him some sort of harm that he fears. To those he first meets, Raivis is a bit quiet and secretive, but it only takes a bit of kindness for him to open up. Once friends with someone, Raivis is very loyal, and a tad more gullible. He puts a lot of trust in people once they've gained his friendship, but if that trust is broken, it's ten times harder to get it back. He's suspicious of people once he knows they've deceived him. On the other hand though, the friends he's very close to, Raivis is cheerful and happy with, and even likes playing tricks on those he know would never hurt him for it. Romantically, Raivis enjoys hearing love stories quite a bit, but when it comes down to it, he's not very experienced or knowledgeable when it comes to dealing with people he has an 'interest' in. Awkward would be the word for him. He means well, he really does, but Raivis just isn't the best with romance.

History:

Raivis was born around the time of the Livonian Order as a child of Duttur, the Goddess of the Ewe. From this time on, Raivis lived through German conquests, Christianization, the Swedish Rule, Polish Knights, the Russian Empire, and many more things in the 20th century. But Raivis is merely a God prayed to by the people to protect their farms...and thus was just a bystander throughout all that plagued the people who prayed to him. Raivis did his best to protect the farm animals raised, and particularly, sheep, through good and bad, war and peace. Much of his nervousness comes from the suffering of his land; as the people suffered, he suffered. He saw the pain and the glory, the destruction and the creation. Being such a simple God though, Raivis could never give the people he served more hope than helping their farms.

For a long time, through good and bad, Raivis lived just outside the farms of the Latgalian, Livonian, Semigallian, Selonian, Curonian, and eventually, the Latvian people, and served them as best he could. He was hard working, and kept the animals healthy and safe from harm, and even helped keep the crops growing healthy when he was at his healthiest. But as time went on, the people still prayed to him, but they didn't recognize him as a God anymore. Raivis was driven off lands as people because more suspicious of him as just being a wild animal. Because he was always nocturnal, most humans who lived in the 19th century didn't see him for what he really was, a harmless Dievs, and instead was a predator out to kill their livestock. He was still prayed to, but the people no longer knew who he was if they ever saw him work. Humans were fearful of him, called him a demon, a devil, even attacked him and tried to kill him, all the while not knowing he was one of the many Gods they prayed to. After an incident where Raivis was shot by a human, he became too paranoid and fearful of humans to keep helping them. After being injured, Raivis fled the country, to the rumoured Mythos Town.

RP Sample:

Well yes...Raivis could have easily just said 'yes, it was me', but what if there really somehow had been another person in the forest that screamed at the same time as him? They'd never know! Raivis knew most people thought he was either silly or paranoid, but it all made perfect sense to him...Gosh, the day Raivis' eccentric thoughts got through to someone, they would see they'd made fun of him or thought he was weird for nothing, and he'd be a hero of sorts, who predicted some kind of devastating tragedy, maybe even helped stop it...so, what if there really had been another person in the woods? With a sigh, Raivis dropped his gaze to the ground, and watched closely for creepy crawlers of any sort, while he tried to justify his frightened ramblings.

"I know, I-I know...am sorry, I just, what if it wasn't be a-and someone else..." Raivis trailed off, figuring this guy wasn't going to understand Raivis without a relatively long explanation. This probably wasn't the time or place to be telling stories or exploring each other's psyches, so Raivis just left it at that. He ran a hand down his broom and tapped the wood anxiously; this guy certainly wasn't making the situation any friendlier, not that Raivis would expect people to be friendly, especially in the Forbidden Forest of all places...Maybe he thought Raivis would tell on him for being in there? That was definitely possible...Looking back up with a small smile(an attempt to show the other he wasn't hostile, though it came out more as a strained, shaky muscle twitch), he said, "I am not going to turn you in f-for being out here, since that would be mean...I-I promise I will not attack you? Do not even have a wand right now," he tilted his head and tried to look as un-vicious as he could. Not that looking vicious was a problem he really ever had.

Raivis, after a few moments of what felt like a failed attempt to be friendly, he looked back to the ground and searched for any other instances of the demonic, evil being that had touched him, he nodded. "Ja...D-do not know what it was, but it was cold...l-like an ice cube touched me..." he shivered a bit and shifted his broom, ready to smash anything that moved and wasn't human. "I-I um...I think I need to go though, will be okay," he nodded at the Gryffindor(which looked more like a nod to the ground), and headed off the other way; he really had to find his wand.

I really like your app, Raivis, but it's missing something. Look over the rules one more time.
